Patrick Vieira signs Genoa extension | OneFootball

Genoa have announced that they have extended the contract of manager Patrick Vieira for a further two seasons.

The former Arsenal midfielder joined the Italian side after close to a full season with French club Strasbourg after having previously been in charge of Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

I Rossoblù finished 13th in Serie A in the 2024/25 season with 43 points, which was enough to see the manager's deal extended.

"It has been a very intense period since I arrived in Genoa last November," Vieira said about his new deal. "We managed to secure Genoa's stay in Serie A and finish the season with pride and determination, as this club deserves.

"I am very proud of what we have built and achieved, all together. After the last game in Bologna we were always in touch with the club and the directors to analyse this season and prepare properly for the next one.

"I am happy at Genoa and in Genoa. Extending our relationship was the most natural thing to do, it didn't take long to find an understanding and complete the bureaucratic formalities. Now it is time to enjoy some holidays, but we will continue to work behind the scenes to prepare for the start of next season."
