Italian side Parma have confirmed the appointment of Carlos Cuesta as their new manager.
The move sees Arsenal lose a key figure from their coaching team, with assistant manager Cuesta leaving Mikel Arteta’s backroom staff to take on his first senior role in management.
The Spanish coach, who turns 30 next month, joined Arteta’s set-up in August 2020 and had previously worked within the youth systems at both Atlético Madrid and Juventus.
At just 29, Cuesta now becomes the youngest manager across Europe’s top five leagues.
He takes charge of a Parma side that finished 16th in Serie A last season, and he’ll be aiming to guide the club back into the top half of the Italian top flight.
