It is fair to suggest that Franco Ordine is not letting the weekend’s 4-0 victory against Venezia distract him from AC Milan’s start to the season, and today, he has suggested that the Rossoneri now must prove they are no longer ‘sick’.

In an ideal world, the season began on Saturday and Milan are in a comfortable position in the Serie A table after a 4-0 romping against Venezia. Unfortunately, we are not, and we must also remember the pre-international break fixtures.

Whilst the situation is not as bad as it was before the two-week gap, it still does not paint a good picture for the Rossoneri, a club who are aiming to, at the very least, challenge for the Scudetto.

Even after the Venezia game, it can be argued if the Diavolo were great, or if the Venice outfit were just very poor, and in his column for Corriere dello Sport Ordine (via Milan News) stated that the clash against Liverpool tonight would show where Milan really are.

“If AC Milan, the great sick man of Italian football until the break, has only taken a swill, to understand if the restorative cure has had any real effect we will have to go through the Reds’ test, Salah’s dribbles and Luis Diaz’s tears, the litmus test indispensable to judge if all the gaps discovered in Milan’s defensive fabric have been mended effectively. Personal relationships have been mended, a few sincere hugs and a few posts on Instagram have certified it. But in football, they don’t score points.”
