In 14 days time Newcastle United will conclude their season with a home game against Everton on Sunday 25 May with a 4pm kick-off.

An intense period of games during May for the five teams competing to get those final three Champions League spots.

The latest two came on Saturday, with Southampton 0 Man City 0 followed by Bournemouth 0 Villa 1.

So this is how the Premier League table now currently looks on the morning of Sunday 11 May 2025 after Saturday’s results:

As you can see, it is only four points separating Man City in third down to Forest in seventh. With three clubs all on 63 points.

However, with Newcastle v Chelsea and Forest v Leicester, three of the five Champions League chasers playing their game in hand on Man City and Villa.

When it comes to predicting what that final Premier League table will look like after the 38th round of fixtures in May 2025, Opta have done some updated analysis after Saturday’s results.

Using their latest data simulations, Opta analysis has shown this as the most likely 2024/25 Premier League table come the end of the season – Predicted final table as of this morning (Sunday 11 May) 2025:

As you can see, it couldn’t be closer, with Opta now predicting only two points to cover the five clubs.

Man City now forecast to end up third on 68 points.

Chelsea the smallest of margins predicted ahead of Newcastle United, to cover fourth and fifth places, but both predicted to finish on 67 points.

Then only one point behind those two, Villa and Forest forecast to miss out on the Champions League places in sixth and seventh on 66 points.
