The future of Paul Pogba (32) remains unclear after the 2018 World Cup winner was allowed to resume his footballing career following his doping ban being reduced from four years to 18 months.
The Frenchman, a free agent following his and Juventus’s decision to part ways by mutual consent, has courted interest from the MLS and also Japan. Pogba was spotted at a Los Angeles FC match where he was reunited with his former international teammate, Olivier Giroud.
Giroud made the move to the US after his contract at AC Milan expired at the end of last season. However, the striker cannot see Pogba following in his footsteps, as he told Téléfoot, “I was really happy to see him, but I think he has to get used to staying in Europe. To be honest with you, I think he has that ambition.”
This could perhaps reignite Olympique de Marseille’s interest in the former Manchester United player. The club had considered a move this season but were put off by fitness concerns. However, if he is still available in the summer, Marseille may look to gauge his interest in the project.
