RC Strasbourg Alsace have confirmed that Samuel Amo-Ameyaw (18) has made his move from Southampton permanent.
The England youth international joined Strasbourg on loan during the January transfer window. He went on to make 10 appearances for Les Alsaciens, scoring two goals. His short-term loan deal, concluded during the dying stage of the winter transfer window, included a permanent option, which has now been exercised, as confirmed by the club. The value of the transfer has not been disclosed.
Amo-Ameyaw has signed a four-year deal with Liam Rosenior’s side, who will compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season, or in the UEFA Europa League in the event of Olympique Lyonnais’ exclusion from the competition.
The Englishman will be hoping to grow in stature next season, with the potential for more game time should Dilane Bakwa depart. The winger is the subject of significant interest. Upon the confirmation of Amo-Ameyaw’s permanent move, RCSA sought to highlight the Englishman’s “seriousness”, as well as revealing that he is undergoing French classes.
