Taking to social media, Pitarch confirmed the news, as he posted an image of him signing his new contract along with the following message:

“So happy to be able to extend my contract with the best team in the world! It’s an honor to be able to continue to belong and defend this club.

Concluding, he wrote: “Now it’s time to continue working harder than ever, pushing every day to the maximum for this shield, which deserves no less.”

Pitarch, 18, started the pre-season with Castilla under Alvaro Arbeloa and made a big impression, prompting Xabi Alonso to call him up to train with the first-team players.

The Merengues’ faith is in his future potential is unwavering and as such, they have moved to secure his contract renewal.

While the youngster’s statement does not reveal it, Pitarch is understood to have signed a five-year deal until 2030, having turned 18 years old a couple of weeks ago.
