Milan ultras confirm they will remain silent in the next Serie A match against Genoa and urge ordinary fans to do the same looking to encourage the ‘club to continue investments’ and pick a coach who can ‘motivate the group.’

Milan Ultras confirmed on Friday that they’d remain silent in the next home Serie A match against Genoa.

“On Sunday against Genoa, Curva Sud Milan and AIMC won’t put up banners or wave flags and will refrain from any sort of support,” the Curva Sud Milano wrote on their official Instagram account Friday morning.

“We invite the rest of the crowd to join the protest whose only target is to encourage the club to continue the investment policy begun last summer, picking a coach who knows how to motivate the team and valorize young players, making appropriate signings to cover roles that were left exposed this season.

“Making decisions and names is not up to us, but the club must send a strong signal that they want to strengthen the project started last summer. Always with Milan in our hearts.”

Milan are expected to sack Stefano Pioli at the end of the season despite a contract expiring in June 2025. Julen Lopetegui appeared to be the leading candidate for the job, but the Rossoneri have decided against hiring the Spanish tactician also in light of fans’ protests on social media.

The Rossoneri have already qualified for the 2024-25 Champions League and have a five-point lead over third-placed Juventus in Serie A.

Pioli won the Scudetto in 2021-22 and reached a Champions League semifinal last term, but will finish the second consecutive season empty-handed, prompting the club to replace him next season.
