As expected, Milan have officially activated their option to buy full-back Alex Jimenez from Real Madrid.
The defender only turned 19 last month, but managed to make five appearances for the senior squad during his loan experience this season.
They had an option to make the move permanent for €5m and have now officially used that clause, signing Jimenez on a contract to June 2028.
There is also an option to further extend the contract to June 2029.
At the same time, Real Madrid retain a clause to buy Jimenez back for €10m and that expires in 2026.
Primarily a right-back, Jimenez can also play on the left side of a four-man defence.
He has two caps for Spain at Under-19 level and is expected to play for the newly-formed Milan Futuro team, which will play in Serie C from the 2024-25 season.
It still gives him the option of coming in to the senior Milan squad when required.
