“Mbappe will continue receiving specific medical treatment and will gradually return to team activity.”

What happened to Mbappe?

The French star had been hospitalised due to acute gastroenteritis, which forced him to miss Real Madrid’s opening Club World Cup match against Al Hilal.

Although he is back with the squad, Mbappe is not yet ready to play. He will continue to undergo specific medical treatment while slowly rejoining group activities.

Real Madrid have made it clear that they are taking a careful approach with his recovery. The next step for the 26-year-old is to build his strength and match fitness, but there is no rush.

No return yet as Madrid face must-win game

Real Madrid’s next fixture is against Pachuca this Sunday in Charlotte. But as things stand, Mbappe will not be involved.

As of now, it has been stated that the forward is ruled out of the game, as he is still not fit enough to feature. This is a blow for Madrid, as they are in need of a win following their draw against Al Hilal.

Pachuca, on the other hand, are also under pressure. After losing to RB Salzburg, they must beat Real Madrid to keep their hopes of staying in the Club World Cup alive.

Without Mbappe, Los Blancos will need to rely on other attacking options to carry the load in what is shaping up to be a crucial match.

Real Madrid are hopeful that Mbappe will be back soon, but for now, the focus remains on a safe and full recovery.
