Atalanta confirm Sead Kolasinac has been diagnosed with a ruptured ACL and a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee, which means his season is over.
Dea defender Kolasinac has suffered a serious knee injury that will force him to the sidelines for several months.
The ex-Arsenal and Schalke 04 defender was subbed off during the first half of Sunday’s 2-0 win over direct rivals Bologna.

“Following the medical tests carried out in the immediate aftermath of the match against Bologna, Sead Kolašinac has been diagnosed with a ruptured ACL and a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee,” Atalanta said in a statement.
“Further specialist evaluations will be conducted in the coming hours to determine the most appropriate course of action and treatment plan.”
The defender has made 34 appearances for Atalanta this season, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
His contract at the Gewiss Stadium expires in June, but Atalanta have an option to extend it for a further campaign.
This is only the latest anterior cruciate ligament tear for Atalanta, who also lost Gianluca Scamacca and Giorgio Scalvini to the same injury.
This type of setback usually requires five or six months on the sidelines.
