Feyenoord made the decision to sack Brian Priske as their head coach yesterday, and they have announced who will take charge of the game against AC Milan on Wednesday.
With Feyenoord currently fifth in the league and out of the domestic cup, an official statement yesterday confirmed the call to part ways with Priske who had been the man chosen as Arne Slot’s replacement during the summer.
Now, the official website has confirmed that Pascal Bosschaart will ‘temporarily take over’ from Priske’s duties as the first team head coach of the Rotterdam club after his departure was announced on Monday.
The Former Feyenoord player Bosschaart, who previously worked as assistant coach at SC Cambuur and FC Dordrecht for several years, comes over from Feyenoord Academy, where he was in charge of Under 21 side. His assistant Arnold Scholten will move up to replace his job there.
Bosschaart will be the caretaker manager of Feyenoord’s first team, the statement confirms, while with John de Wolf and Etienne Reijnen will be part of his staff. What it implies is there could be a permanent appointment before the second leg at San Siro next week.
“We are pleased that Pascal has immediately agreed to step in temporarily. I have already been able to speak to many players, staff members and other closely involved people and everyone realises that we still have a lot to fight for,” director Dennis te Kloese said.
