Wolves striker Fabio Silva is moving to the Bundesliga on a permanent basis. Borussia Dortmund have signed the 23-year-old to a new contract valid until 2030. Kicker and other German footballing media outlets report on a base-transfer-fee of €22.5m with an additional €4m in bonuses tacked on.

Silva finally has a stable base club after being loaned out four times by his EPL parent club. Dortmund have now completed the signing of three EPL professionals in the last week after sealing the capture of Carney Chukwuemeka and Aarón Anselmino from Chelsea.

Earlier this summer, BVB permanently purchased Man City’s Yan Couto and brought in Jobe Bellingham from promoted Sunderland. Silva’s signing pushes Dortmund’s summer transfer outlays close to €100m. Five players from English clubs account for roughly €95m in summer expenditures.

“Our goal during the current transfer window was to broaden the team’s options in attack in order to be as unpredictable as possible and fully prepared for all situations in three competitions,” BVB sporting director Lars Ricken noted in a club statement. “It took a lot of patience to accomplish this and we are now happy to have signed a player with great potential in Fabio Silva.”

“Fabio Silva was considered an exceptional talent from a very young age,” Ricken’s BVB front office colleague Sebastian Kehl added. “This new signing brings, intensity, pace, and another goal-scoring threat to the team. [Silva] is a driven and hard-working striker. That makes this transfer very valuable for us.”
