Official: Barcelona forward named La Liga Player of the Season | OneFootball

The entirety of this season was a long and hard-fought battle for FC Barcelona across every single competition. Once doubted, the Catalan giants managed to exceed expectations in every single way. Ultimately, Hansi Flick’s help enabled Barcelona to win a domestic treble.

Securing the Spanish Super Cup, Copa del Rey, and lastly the La Liga title as well, Flick’s team was dominant when it came to domestic competitions. While they failed to reach the UEFA Champions League final, despite impressive individual performances, Barcelona can be proud of their season nonetheless.

However, despite being both the top scorer and top assist-provider in the UEFA Champions League while also leading in various other important statistics as well, Brazilian forward Raphinha was not given the Player of the Tournament award for the UCL. A harsh decision, and it failed to reward him for his historic campaign.

Fortunately, however, another competition has now made sure to reward him for his contributions this season. La Liga has now officially confirmed that the Barcelona forward is indeed the Spanish First Division’s Player of the Season for the 2024/2025 campaign.

After a dominant performance, one which greatly helped Barcelona win the La Liga title, it seems only fair that Raphinha ends up with this award. With 18 goals and 9 assists, the Brazilian forward was undeniably one of the league’s top performers this season.
