NYCFC vs FC Dallas: How to watch, time, and more as Pigeons end the road trip | OneFootball

New York City FC fans can rejoice: the four-game road trip is almost over.  So far, one can deem this time away from home as okay, for the Pigeons are 1-1-1.  In a sense, they will be away for their first Leagues Cup game since they will be at Red Bull Arena.  However, it is still considered a home match.  So, this dreadful period is almost over, but the team has to face FC Dallas first.

The last time the teams met was in 2023, and NYCFC won 3-1.  Overall, the Boys in Blue lead the Texas side with a 3-1-4 record, with the lone loss coming all the way back in 2015.  Therefore, it would be easy to assume that the visitors will leave with at least a point.  Of course, the road struggles are always a concern, and they are lucky they won against Orlando City SC after some poor play for the majority of that match.

So, what does NYCFC need to do to beat the 12th-place Western Conference side?  The answer is easier said than done: score goals.  The Pigeons must score more than one if they want to end the trip with all three points.  As seen in the Sporting Kansas City match, the lone goal by the visitors kept the home team in the game, and eventually they tied it.

Meanwhile, the big question entering this fixture is whether the team’s newest Designated Player, Nicolás Fernández Mercau, will be available.  The secondary transfer window officially opens on Thursday, May 24, so he can be registered with NYCFC.  Fans will have to wait and see whether he will make his first appearance in Major League Soccer or next week in the Leagues Cup.
