Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood has been ruled out of Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final clash with Brighton due to an injury sustained on international duty.
Wood picked up a knock to his hip while playing for New Zealand against New Caledonia on Monday, and underwent a scan on Thursday.
The full extent of the 33-year-old's injury is not yet known, but manager Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Wood will miss the Brighton game at the very least.
“He went for a scan today and we are still waiting for the result,” said Nuno. “He went to see a specialist to do the scan, so we will wait on the information.
“He is not going to be available for this game. He fell really hard on his hip and there is pain there, so we have to wait."
The club are also waiting to assess the fitness of Murillo, Ola Aina and Ramon Sosa following their respective returns from international duty.
“Every time there is an international break we have to assess the players," added Nuno. "Many of them just arrived back today and we are still waiting for Sosa to come back tomorrow, then we will assess all of them.”
Forest are hoping to overcome Brighton and book a spot in a semi-final which would represent their first trip to Wembley in a domestic cup competition since the 1992 League Cup final.
