The East Midlands derby is bound to continue, even off the pitch. In the January transfer window, Nottingham Forest are eyeing a Leicester transfer target.
Unfortunately, Leicester fell to Nottingham Forest earlier in the season. However, Leicester hope to be a different team going forward, under the management of Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The next time that Leicester come up against Nottingham Forest is in May, shortly before the Premier League season commences. By then, depending on where both teams are in the table, there could be more on the line than simply local bragging rights.
By the time May rolls around, Nottingham Forest hope to have signed a Premier League striker. If Leicester have anything to do with it, they won't.
According to a report from Wayne Veysey of Football Insider, Nottingham Forest are eyeing a permanent transfer for Evan Ferguson of Brighton and Hove Albion in the January window. As it stands, Forest are believed to be plotting a bid.
It has already been reported that Leicester City would like to sign Evan Ferguson on a temporary loan deal in the January transfer window. This could benefit all parties, with Ferguson unhappy with his lack of minutes this season.
However, Brighton's true stance could be tested in the January transfer window. If they see no place for the striker in their long-term plans, then selling him permanently to Nottingham Forest might be the preferred option. If this is the case, then Leicester fans would be annoyed to see the Foxes owners refusing to pull their wallets out.
Leicester City would like to sign a new striker in the January transfer window. While Jamie Vardy has been in red-hot form recently (can we even call his brilliance "form" anymore?), the Foxes would be best-placed to recruit in this position. Odsonne Edouard has been a hardly proven himself, after all.
