Tamas Nikitscher has been linked with the three Championship clubs and teams from Spain and Germany.

Coventry City, Norwich City, and Middlesbrough are reportedly interested in a move for Kecskemet midfielder Tamas Nikitscher.

That's according to a report from Nemzeti Sport, with the Canaries potentially looking ahead to the January transfer window after a fairly underwhelming start to the campaign.

There have been some bright moments for Norwich, but they currently sit in 14th, and that isn't ideal for a side that finished in the top six at the end of last season.

In fairness, they have lost some of their best players since the end of last season, with Gabriel Sara moving on and Jonathan Rowe also sealing an exit from Carrow Road.

Adam Idah and Abu Kamara also moved on, and that was a shame for the Norfolk outfit because both players could have been valuable contributors under Johannes Hoff Thorup.

They were able to recruit several additions during the summer transfer window, but the club may be keen to add even more quality to their squad during the winter window, as they look to climb the Championship table.

Nikitscher is reported to be a target for Norwich, but they aren't alone in this race.

Norwich City eyeing Tamas Nikitscher move

Nikitscher, who has represented Hungary at a senior international level this year, is currently plying his trade at Kecskemet.

Thriving at his current team under former West Brom star Zoltan Gera, he has done enough to attract interest from elsewhere.

Coventry City, Middlesbrough and the Canaries are the three English second-tier sides that have been linked with a move for the 25-year-old - and a move to all three clubs could be attractive - considering the trio will be aiming to be at the top end of the table at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Teams in Germany and Spain are also believed to be interested in his signature, with Nemzeti Sport revealing this interest.

The central midfield area is one that the Sky Blues need to look at during the January window.

They have a decent amount of depth in some areas, but they are probably lacking an option or two in the middle of the park.

Josh Eccles may be a good option to have there, but he may be required at full-back at times and Ben Sheaf's injury worries have left them with fewer options.

Nikitscher, who has played for Hungary's senior team, is clearly a capable player and he could potentially talk to fellow international Callum Styles about the demands of the English second tier before he potentially makes a move there.

The Sky Blues may not be the most attractive destination at this stage, considering they are low down in the table, but they have a huge amount of potential and a move to the Midlands may not be the worst outcome for Nikitscher, who would be backed by a big crowd at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Whether he's the best fit for the club is unclear, considering the 25-year-old often plays as a more advanced midfielder, but he could end up being a good replacement for Callum O'Hare.

Boro are another well-backed side - and the chance to work under former world-class midfielder Michael Carrick could persuade the Hungarian to make the move to the Riverside.

It remains to be seen whether the Hungary international will move on in January though.
