Arsenal have struck an agreement with Chelsea for the signing of Noni Madueke.
Standard Sport understands a deal worth £52m has been agreed, whilst it has been reported elsewhere that a medical will take place shortly.
Madueke, 23, is expected to sign a five-year deal upon swapping west London for north London.
Despite playing an important role for Chelsea last season as they clinched Champions League qualification and won the Conference League, competition in attack has increased following the signings of Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens.
Speaking after the Blues beat Palmeiras to reach the Club World Cup semi-final last week, Enzo Maresca revealed his stance on a possible exit for Madueke.
“Noni has been very important for us during this season. Today, again, he has been important,” the Chelsea head coach said.
“But my message to the players and to the club is that I want just players that are happy to be with us.
“The ones that are not happy, they are free to go. It's not for Noni, it's for all the players we have.
“But again, Noni has been very good during the season and very good tonight.”
The England international is set to become Arsenal’s fourth signing of an already busy summer window following the arrivals of Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi and ex-Chelsea teammate Kepa Arrizabalaga.
