AC Milan winger Noah Okafor is now on his way to England to complete his move to Premier League side Leeds United.
With the dying weeks of the transfer window approaching, Leeds have accelerated their efforts to bring in forward reinforcements.
AC Milan’s Okafor is on their list of targets; however, the Serie A giants showed reluctance to let him go after the player had a strong pre-season with them.
Leeds went in and agreed personal terms with Okafor before they stepped up their negotiations with AC Milan on Monday.
Rafael Leao’s injury during the Italian Cup game against Bari raised doubts regarding whether the Rossoneri would sanction a move for Okafor, which might weaken their forward department.
However, the Yorkshire giants have managed to get the green light from AC Milan as they agreed a deal in the region of €20m.
Now Swiss international Okafor is on his way to England to undergo a medical with Leeds and if all goes well, he will complete his move soon.
It has been suggested that a chance to play in the Premier League was too hard for 25-year-old Okafor to refuse.
He has agreed to a four-year deal with Leeds with the club having an option to extend his stay for a further one year if they deem fit.
Okafor spent the second half of the last season on loan at Napoli but featured for only 36 minutes for them.
He now will be looking to hit the ground running in the Leeds colours and revive his career on English soil after two disappointing campaigns in Italy.
The Whites are also linked with another attacking option in the form of Getafe’s Christantus Uche, who is also on the list of Premier League outfits Sunderland and Wolves.
