Striker Marcus Thuram will not be risked from the start in today’s Serie A clash between Juventus and Inter Milan.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that it will be Mehdi Taremi who starts in attack for the Nerazzurri in the Derby d’Italia.
By far the biggest fitness doubt for Inter Milan going into today’s Derby d’Italia has concerned Marcus Thuram.
The France international is coming back from an ankle knock that he sustained in Monday’s match against Fiorentina. He had to come off in the first half of that match after a blow to the ankle.
Thuram is back in training. And he will be available in the Inter squad this evening.
However, the Frenchman will not start, reports Sky Sport Italia.
Sky report that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will not risk Thuram in the starting eleven this evening.
The 27-year-old is still shaking off the ankle problem that he picked up against Fiorentina.

Therefore, there is little confidence in Thuram’s ability to play the entire match.
And if Thuram were to start in his current condition, he would risk a more serious injury.
With big matches in multiple competitions just on the way, Inzaghi hardly wants to see that.
Therefore, reports Sky, Thuram will only be available as a substitute. It will be Mehdi Taremi who leads the line alongside Lautaro Martinez.
Then, Sky anticipate, Francesco Acerbi will get the nod ahead of Stefan de Vrij in defense.
