The free-to-attend Road to Wembley installation, running from 22nd to 25th August, will offer a rare behind-the-scenes look at our historic 2024/25 season - the club's first domestic trophy in seven decades.
The immersive exhibition combines powerful imagery, audio, and film to take visitors on an emotional journey from the pitch to the parade. It includes over 100 documentary-style photographs capturing unforgettable match moments, the passion of supporters, and the sheer scale of the 300,000-strong homecoming celebrations.
The Carabao Cup will also be on public display, taking pride of place in the gallery. Accompanied by the victory parade bus - situated on Baltic Square on specific days during the showcase - the display is a must-see for fans, families and the wider public.
A MUST-VISIT FOR FANS AND FAMILIES
Taking place on Level 1 of Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead, the event offers several interactive highlights for fans of all ages, including:
A public display of the Carabao Cup trophy, allowing supporters to see the silverware up close *
Immersive set designs that recreate Newcastle's streets and the atmosphere of St. James' Park
Fan-focused audio installations, featuring interviews, terrace chants, and commentary from the unforgettable cup run
The club's open-top parade bus, on show in Baltic Square
* The Carabao Cup trophy will be on display from 22nd August through to 3pm on 25th August, with the exhibition remaining open until 6pm on the final day.
LOCAL TALENT, GLOBAL IMPACT
The Road to Wembley was commissioned by Newcastle United and produced in collaboration with acclaimed local artists Jimmy Turrell and Ewen Spencer, both known for blending football, music and street culture in their work. They are joined by typographer Will Knight, whose creative input helps bring the exhibition to life through striking design.
In total, over 200 hours were spent developing the exhibition, drawing on unseen moments and emotional high points to celebrate not just a sporting achievement, but a powerful expression of local pride.
Looking beyond the North East, the project also travelled overseas. The first international stop was Seoul, where South Korean artist Joonho Ko interpreted the exhibition using the Magpie - both South Korea's national bird and a symbol of Newcastle United - as inspiration.
Dan Ginger, Newcastle United's Director of Brand, Marketing and Digital media, said: "Our Carabao Cup win ignited a sense of unity and pride across the city and beyond. This exhibition is a way to honour that moment and connect with people in a creative, meaningful way that goes far beyond the game itself."
