In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Newcastle United are set to win the race for Suwon Bluewings youngster Seung-soo Park this summer. It has been stated that the Magpies are close to recruiting the South Korean wide player in this transfer window.
Park has come through the youth ranks of Suwon Bluewings and did well to break out as a first-team starter for them recently. The South Korean whizkid has already made 27 senior appearances for his current employers, finding the back of the net once and securing three assists in multiple competitions.
The 18-year-old has caught the eye with his performances on the left side of Suwon’s attack. He is currently amongst the best young wingers in South Korean football, so it is no surprise that Newcastle want to land him this off-season.
However, Park is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League if the Magpies manage to bring him on board this summer.

Park is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some driving runs with it out on the flanks. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has got the vision to create a few promising chances for others around him on the offensive end of the field.
The South Korean sensation is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also operate as a right-winger if told to do so. However, as mentioned earlier, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in English football.
Still, there is no doubt that Park would be a great addition to Newcastle United‘s academy. He has what it takes to break into Eddie Howe’s first team in the coming seasons.
At 18, Park is undeniably a prospect to watch out for in the future. Hence, the Tyneside club should focus on going all out to bring him to St. James’ Park in this summer transfer period as he could prove to be an excellent signing for them in the long run.
