The rumours surrounding Newcastle United and Nicolas Jackson are getting stronger. According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Chelsea do not see the striker as part of their future plans, and that is why the chances of his departure before the transfer window closes have increased significantly.
The report reveals that both Newcastle United and Bayern Munich have joined the race, but the Magpies are far ahead in talks. Chelsea have already revamped their attacking third by bringing in the likes of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, leaving very little room for Jackson. Newcastle United’s interest are believed to be even stronger because the club are still considering Alexander Isak’s situation.
They may even consider selling him if a big offer comes in, but on the condition that they first find a reliable new striker. That is why the Magpies have set their sights on Jackson and seem ready to pay the fee. Bayern Munich, on the other hand, are considering a loan deal, making this a tough but interesting race for the Magpies.

The 24-year-old striker’s biggest strengths are his pace and ball control. He is adept at breaking defensive lines, and his movements prove to be very sharp. The Senegal player is also quick to create space in the opposition box and, at times, makes defenders uncomfortable single-handedly. However, his biggest challenge has been finishing and maintaining consistent form. At times, Jackson’s shots do not find the right direction at crucial moments, and this shortcoming has prevented him from being consistent at the top level.
For the Magpies, this decision is both a risk and an opportunity. If Alexander Isak leaves the club, Jackson can give a new direction to the team as his replacement. His pace and ability to press relentlessly off the ball can match the style of Newcastle United, but his inconsistent finishing will be a cause of concern.
Still, given Chelsea’s current situation, this transfer could make financial sense for the Magpies. If Eddie Howe can give him confidence and consistency, he could make a big contribution to the team. Overall, this move may seem bold, but it seems to have a lot of potential for the future.
