Inter Milan are anxious about the condition of Stefan de Vrij who might have suffered an injury in yesterday’s friendly against Al-Ittihad.

The Dutchman entered the pitch in the pitch in the second half as a replacement for Francesco Acerbi in the encounter that ended in a 2-0 win in favor of the Saudi Pro League club.

But more worryingly for the Nerazzurri, they may have lost yet another player to injury in what has become a pre-season trend.

The Netherlands international admitted that he felt something tweak.

The pink newspaper believes the player suffered a strain on the flexors of his left thigh.

In the meantime, Simone Inzaghi will be holding his breath, as he would loathe to lose another player to injury before the start of the season.

De Vrij has been plying his trade at Inter since completing a free transfer from Lazio in 2018.

The 32-year-old had his highs and lows throughout his six years at Appiano Gentile. But he remains an important figure at the back for the Nerazzurri.

The defender’s contract with the Italian champions will expire at the end of the season. This leaves his long-term future in doubt.

Therefore, he will be hoping for a solid campaign if he wishes to extend his stay at the club.
