Nottingham Forest are now the hot favourites to sign Dan Ndoye from Bologna, as Napoli are not prepared to get into a bidding war.
It had been reported last week that both clubs agreed personal terms with the player, who was waiting to see who would shake hands with the Rossoblu first.
Football Italia’s own Alfredo Pedullà had also warned that Napoli were not willing to pay the €45m asking price plus percentage of the sell-on fee, feeling that it was exaggerated.

Now Sky Sport Italia are confident that Nottingham Forest are prepared to push on and do a deal with Bologna, with Ndoye also putting the Premier League top of his list of priorities.
It’s not done yet, as Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano maintain the most recent offer is €40m plus add-ons, but getting close.
The report makes it clear that he is leaning towards an English transfer, so that even if Nottingham Forest don’t reach the desired fee, he will look for other sides in that division.
The Switzerland international turns 25 in October and scored nine goals with six assists in 41 competitive games for Bologna last season.
That included victory in the Coppa Italia Final against Milan.
