Napoli have turned their attention towards Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa and Manchester City’s Jack Grealish in their search for a new winger (h/t Corierre dello Sport).
Following Lorenzo Lucca’s arrival, Dan Ndoye was touted to complete Napoli’s attack, but talks with Bologna have broken down.
Nottingham Forest have moved to the forefront for the Swiss attacker. They also had a €30 million opening bid rejected by the Rossoblu.
Napoli manager Antonio Conte wants to add more depth to the left flank, having recently acquired Noa Lang from PSV Eindhoven.
Chiesa presents a low-cost opportunity for Napoli, and he has been heavily linked with a return to Serie A.
The former Juventus star has endured an underwhelming spell at Liverpool, marred by injuries and limited game time.
Considered surplus to requirements, Liverpool are willing to sell Chiesa after just one season, with a price tag set at around €15m.
The former Fiorentina star wants to revive his flagging career to maximise his chances of securing a place in the Italian national team for next year’s World Cup.
However, Napoli face competition from Atalanta, who have earmarked Chiesa as the replacement for Inter Milan-linked Ademola Lookman.
Elsewhere, Grealish is no longer in Man City’s scheme of things, opening the door for his exit this summer.
But the English winger will command a considerable fee, and his hefty wages also could be a sticking point for Napoli.
The Scudetto winners could look to persuade Grealish with the help of his former City teammate Kevin De Bruyne, who they have signed on a free transfer in this window.
Napoli have announced the signing of defender Sam Beukema from Bologna for €30m.
