There are reports Napoli are ready to offer Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa a much longer contract than anticipated, to June 2029, to shrug off transfer speculation.
It had been suggested he could be departing this summer, as his current deal only runs to June 2026.
There was significant interest from the likes of Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Al-Qadsiyah, but they were all put off by the €30m asking price.
That mutated into Napoli realising how important Anguissa was to their midfield following the Scudetto triumph and proposing a new contract to 2027.

Now Il Mattino and Tuttomercatoweb claim that the situation has changed again, as the player and his entourage were not convinced by that offer.
They want his future to be more secure, so would be prepared to sign if it was for a longer duration, for example to June 2029.
That could therefore allow him to accept a lower salary and spread the cost over more seasons.
The Cameroon international contributed six goals and five assists in 37 official games last season, helping Napoli to win their second Serie A title in three years.
