After a few weeks of intense negotiations, Napoli and Galatasaray have come to terms regarding the permanent transfer of Victor Osimhen.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Partenopei will pocket €75M, the amount of his release clause, although it has technically expired, plus €5M bonuses. They’ll get €40M right away and the rest through two installments in a year’s time. If he’s sold in the future, they’ll receive 10 percent of the fee.

Napoli also obtained a penalty if Osimhen joins another Serie A team in 2026 or 2027, as Galatasaray would have to pay more than the resale clause. The bank guarantees have basically been taken care of

The Nigerian marksman decided he would leave the Partenopei last summer. Even the arrival of Antonio Conte couldn’t change his mind. No team met the Azzurri’s request. He headed to Turkey on loan past deadline day. Al-Hilal and Juventus approached him earlier in the window. Though, he wasn’t keen on going to Saudi Arabia, while the Scudetto holders would rather send him anywhere but to their rivals. He logged 37 goals and 8 assists in 41 matches last campaign. He spent four seasons in Campania, accumulating 133 appearances and contributing to their third Scudetto.

The windfall might not necessarily lead to another acceleration on the transfer market. They completed three signings, Sam Buekema, Lorenzo Lucca, and Noa Lang, in recent days. They probably already knew that the deal, while still being ironed out, wasn’t going to collapse.
