TEAM NEWS

“We’ll have a few players missing tomorrow: Dusan Vlahovic will definitely miss out, as will Gleison Bremer, Juan Cabal, Vasilije Adzic, Douglas Luiz, Arkadiusz Milik and Nico Gonzalez. I’m not sure if Dusan will recover in time for the Aston Villa match, we’ll know more next week, but I hope he and all the others will be back and in contention as soon as possible. Tomorrow will be a great match to be involved in. All the players available want to get out there and play their part. It’s a shame for those who’ll miss out, but it’s important they recover as soon as possible to be available for selection. We’ll give our all to come back to Turin with a good result. We’ll all have to up our game. We have to do it for Bremer and Cabal mainly, because they’ll be out longer than the others.

THE ROSSONERI

“We’ll defend and attack together, as we always do. We’ll try to stop AC Milan implementing their game plan and stifle their strengths. Paulo Fonseca’s side is very strong in transition because they have quality players who thrive in those situations. As a unit, it’ll be our job to restrict their best attributes. We’ll really have to be on our game on the wings. We know our qualities, but we’re well aware of our opponents’ too. It’ll be a great challenge.

HARD-FOUGHT START TO THE SERIE A CAMPAIGN

“What I see today is a very closely matched league and that’s a real positive for us, for all the teams towards the top of the table and, also, for Serie A fans. Who is our Jannik Sinner? I don’t like to make comparisons. Sinner is a world tennis champion and a role model for sport in general. We have a lot of guys who are doing well, but I’m not keen on drawing these kinds of comparison. What I will say is that we have a lot of top-quality players, and I hope that they – and Sinner – will continue to succeed in future.

PLAYERS

“Timothy Weah’s working very well, I like everything he does. I obviously enjoy the fact he’s scoring goals, but I’m looking at more than that. As a player, he offers a lot of solutions, he’s very tactically astute and with his physical and technical qualities he can operate in a number of roles all over the pitch, even within the same game.

"Pierre Kalulu has always really embraced our project. Ever since he joined, he has always made himself available to the group. He’s intelligent, willing, generous and a leader in his own way. He doesn’t say much but, when he does, he always hits the right notes. He is working very well and just has to carry on what he’s doing. The team needs what he brings, so he has to keep pushing and maintain the high levels of quality all round.”
