“I want to see good things. Our determination to improve in everything is essential against any opponent. Monza is a good team with a good coach, and we must all do our best for a great game,” Motta said at a pre-match press conference on Saturday.

The former Italy international confirmed that Gleison Bremer, Juan Cabal, Arkadisuz Milik, Jonas Rouhi, Timothy Weah and Douglas Luiz will miss the game, while Cambiaso must be assessed.

“I could even bring Douglas [Luiz], but I want everyone to be fully fit. We’ll see if he’s available for the next match,” said Motta.

Juventus have collected inconsistent results this season, beating Manchester City in the Champions League, but collecting draws against Serie A strugglers Lecce, Venezia and Cagliari.

“I just focus on tomorrow’s game to do things correctly,” insisted Motta.

“I want a big performance; the rest belongs to the past. There are things we must improve, but we must focus on the next match.

“We must attack the spaces and use our quality to create chances and finalise attacks.”

Manuel Locatelli played as a centre-back in a 4-0 Coppa Italia win over Cagliari on Tuesday.

“Every decision we make is for the team’s good. Manu can adapt to many things,” said Motta.

“He can surely help when we need him. I know he’s a central midfielder. I don’t invent anything. I spoke to the player, and he was convinced about playing as a centre-back, and he’ll surely help us when we need him.”

What’s his verdict on the first part of the season?

“I’ll leave the assessments to you. I’ll make assessments at the end of the season,” Motta replied.

“Now, I am just focused on Monza. I am satisfied with everyone’s work, but I always expect more and more, starting with myself.”

Nico Gonzalez recently returned to action and scored against Cagliari midweek, while Kenan Yildiz played as an attacking midfielder against the Sardinians.

“Strong players can play everywhere. Nico is a strong player and he’ll give his best regardless of the role.

“Kenan is also a great player, younger than Nico, but he can also play in many roles. Kenan has played well on the left wing, as an attacking midfielder and as a striker. He can also play as a right winger. He’s always available to help the team, and I am convinced he’ll do well. We’ll see if he starts tomorrow.”

Juventus are still unbeaten in Serie A but collected 10 draws in 16 matches. They are currently nine points below table leaders Atalanta.
