Devis Vasquez has started his loan spell at Empoli in the best way possible and as a result, he could be redeemed by the club next summer. For AC Milan, this would result in a nominal capital gain, as highlighted by a journalist.
Vasquez started last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and after a successful first games, he ended up on the bench. Therefore, he joined Serie B side Ascoli on loan in the January transfer window and impressed there.
This summer, he was signed by Empoli and Matteo Moretto has clarified the terms of the agreement, seeing as the Colombian goalkeeper has impressed a lot. As per the journalist, the Castellani side have the option to make the deal permanent next summer for €900k
Milan paid €810k to Guarani back in January 2023 and since they have no room for Vasquez in the first team, they believe selling is the best decision. In addition to the €900k, as Moretto concludes, the Rossoneri will also be entitled to 10% of a potential future resale in case Empoli sign him.
Depending on how he performs this season, though, one could argue that there is room in Milan’s squad as they currently have Lorenzo Torriani as the backup. Not to mention that Mike Maignan seems to be quite injury prone.
