Atlanta’s Mercedes‑Benz Stadium buzzed with anticipation as Inter Miami and Porto - coming off respective opening match 0‑0 draws - hoped to break the deadlock at the Club World Cup.
Amid the heightened stakes, a rollercoaster Group A game unfolded as both teams looked to take a first step toward the knockout rounds.

In the 8th minute, Porto converted a penalty through Samu Aghehowa after Noah Allen’s foul. Early celebrations from the Portuguese side and stunned silence from Miami fans created a sudden shock that Porto looked firmly in control
The remainder of the first half saw Miami seeking an equaliser but failing to secure clear chances. Tension and frustration mounted as the home side struggled to break down Porto’s defence.

Just two minutes after kickoff, Telasco Segovia smashed in an equaliser to give the Herons an instant lift. It was a pivotal moment as momentum swung dramatically toward Miami.
The stadium erupted at the 54th minute as Lionel Messi curled in a trademark free‑kick.
It was an inspired strike of pure brilliance and brought up his 50th Inter Miami goal and his first in a Club World Cup.
Porto surged for a late equaliser, but Miami’s defence held strong. Each Porto attack ratcheted up the tension until the final whistle, when relief and jubilation flooded the stands as Miami closed out a famous 2–1 win.
