There are currently five midfielders at Milan with very uncertain futures, meaning some could leave and others could form an important part of Paulo Fonseca’s first Rossoneri squad.

As highlighted by Milan News, decisions will need to be taken on Tommaso Pobega, Yacine Adli, Daniel Maldini, Alexis Saelemaekers and Luka Romero this summer.

There has been plenty of transfer interest in Pobega from the likes of Torino and Fiorentina which means there is a good chance that the Rossoneri make around €10m from the Italian who struggled to get many minutes last season.

Adli has just had his best season since joining the club but he is not the sort of player that Milan can’t do without. He is likely to be evaluated by Fonseca in pre-season before it is decided what will happen to him.

Saelemaekers is back from his loan at Bologna and could soon be on the move to Juventus. He certainly does not seem to have a future at Milan.

Luka Romero has been on loan at Almeria and there is interest in him from Las Palmas. The Rossoneri are looking to sell him after getting him from Lazio on a free transfer.

The same can be said for Maldini who is in the sights of Monza for a permanent deal after he had a successful six months there on loan last season.
