Despite missing today’s training session, AC Milan should be able to count on Emerson Royal for tomorrow’s Champions League clash against Slovan Bratislava.
Since joining Milan in the summer, the Brazilian has often been very polarising. Questions were asked of the Rossoneri’s interest, and when the club decided to make the move, the volume of said questions increased.
In the months that have followed, the speculation about his role within the team remains, with many believing that he is not the right man to replace Davide Calabria and with the Italian’s deal unlikely to be renewed, the Diavolo will probably, once again, be active in the right-back mercato.
Emerson, therefore, must prove himself as the right man to be Paulo Fonseca’s starting option, and games in the Champions League against sides like tomorrow’s (with respect), must be opportunities to show his best.
Thankfully, he will get the chance to do so, as Milan News have revealed that he will in fact travel after fears about his injury. In their report, they state that despite missing training today, he will be on the plane to Slovakia this evening, and Fonseca could look to the former Tottenham Hotspur man in his starting eleven.
