MLS Injury Report Roundup: Tai Baribo upgraded for Philadelphia Union | OneFootball

Tai Baribo's return to action could be coming as soon as the Philadelphia Union's Sunday clash against the Columbus Crew.

Baribo has been upgraded to questionable on Saturday's update to the MLS Player Status Report for Matchday 21 with a calf issue. If the Union's leading scorer plays, it would be his first club action since the final weekend in May, and come only a few days after his delayed return from Israel was confirmed.

After playing 29 minutes off the bench in a 0-0 draw at FC Dallas on May 31, Baribo departed for international duty with the Israel national team.

A calf injury meant he didn't dress for either match, a World Cup Qualifier against Estonia on June 6 or a friendly against Slovakia on June 10. Then geopolitical issues delayed his return until earlier this week, forcing him to rehab from his ailment several thousand miles away from the team facility.

After his return to the U.S. earlier this week was confirmed, initial indications were that it may take longer for Baribo to return to MLS minutes.

Baribo has 13 goals this season and was the MLS Golden Boot race leader most of the season before Sam Surridge's midweek hat trick took the Nashville SC marksman to 15 entering the weekend.

LAFC's Hugo Lloris questnable with shoulder issue

It's unclear whether the former Tottenham Hotspur and France No. 1 has been managing the issue throughout LAFC's three-game group stage or if it was picked up in the 1-1 draw against Flamengo in both teams' Group D finale.

If Lloris can't play Sunday night against Vancouver it will be only the second MLS game the 2018 World Cup winner has missed this season.
