Milan have improved their offer for Ardon Jashari, and the player is doing whatever he can to facilitate their pursuit, but the brick wall erected by Club Brugge is still standing. They demand a record fee to let go of the midfielder, Mediaset informs.
The Rossoneri have put €33.5M plus bonuses on the table for a total of €38M. The counterparty has always demanded €40M and have reached out to a few Premier League sides to stoke a bidding war.
If another real suitor emerged, Club Brugge would have to persuade Jashari to go elsewhere, as he’s adamant about transferring to Milan and has refused alternative destinations. He’s training mostly on his own and isn’t participating in matches even though the season has already started in Belgium.
The Rossoneri will keep insisting on their priority target for a while. They haven’t changed their mind about the main fallback plan either, as it continues to be Javi Guerra. He has turned down an extension from Valencia. He’s wanted by Manchester United too, but he’s not close to transferring yet. Valencia demand at least €25M, but the negotiation with him for a new contract will continue.
It’s good to show some nerve and determination, something they often lacked on the transfer market in the recent past, but the moment to seriously evaluate this chase is worth so much time and money is nigh. They wouldn’t have trouble luring other quality players with that budget. There’s also chance they’ll decide to stand pat. Their new-look midfield could suffice in a season without the cups if a couple of things broke in their favor.
