Milan are ready to do whatever it takes to sign Santiago Gimenez, even clearing the way by shipping off Alvaro Morata. Galatasaray have quickly exploited the opening and are in advanced talks to sign him, Corriere della Sera informs.
The two clubs are closing in on a €1M loan with a €10M obligation to buy. The Spaniard has accepted the destination and would pocket a nine-digit salary. The Rossoneri would let him go if they acquired the Mexican marksman.
Milan have received reassuring news about the injury suffered by Gimenez midweek, but Feyenoord haven’t caved yet, although there’s optimism given their quick acceleration concerning the sale of Morata.
The Rossoneri had started with a €20M offer plus €7M add-ons. They raised it a couple of times but might have to come close to the €40M threshold to be successful. They are also trying to offload Davide Calabria. Bologna are after him. Monza asked for Francesco Camarda on loan, and the deal is likely to go through. The brass hasn’t abandoned the idea of bringing in Joao Felix too.
They better be sure they’ll land the plane, or they’ll ostracize the latter for no reason. While he’s not been great, but his numbers aren’t surprising or too underwhelming given his track record as a goal-poacher, he’s been a key piece of their offense. Perhaps he took umbrage with the fact that they were seeking another center-forward, but the plan should have been to have them both. His transfers rarely go down without a hitch, so it’d be a little surprising if things moved this rapidly.
