Milan want to have Joao Felix for more than six months, as they believe he can be a difference-maker on and off the pitch thanks to his class and popularity. There wasn’t enough time to set up a permanent deal in January, but they’ll try in a couple of months, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The Rossoneri will sit down with Chelsea again. They spent €5.5M to sign him in the past month. The way to go could be another loan with an obligation to buy. It could amount to about €40M since the Blues paid €52M plus commissions to acquire him not too long ago.
Milan, which generally don’t splurge that much, are prepared to make sacrifices to keep Joao Felix. Theo Hernandez is top of the list in that sense. The negotiation to renew his contract, which is up in 2026, is stalling.
The Rossoneri could even mull partying ways with Rafael Leao and handing the reins to the newcomer. Still, the offer would have to be very rich and close to his €175M release clause in this case.
Sergio Conceiçao was key to bringing the former Atletico Madrid star to San Siro. The player has told those close to him that he has fit in well in the city and the locker room and feels to have found the right coach to return to elite levels.
The early returns are sound, but it’s a little early, and Chelsea, while a little all over the place on the transfer market, don’t give away their players. The Hernandez sale could happen regardless if there’s no progress on his renewal.
