Milan Primavera produced a second-half comeback against Lecce at the PUMA House of Football, and it was all thanks to the star man Filippo Scotti.
After some confusion inside the Milan penalty area, Lecce took the lead early on. Regetas managed to scored with a surgical header but just like last time out against Fiorentina, Federico Guidi’s team paid for slow start to the match.
Lecce came close to doubling their advantage on a coupe of occasions inside the first half but didn’t, and around the hour mark the Rossoneri managed to get a bit of momentum going. Not many, though, predicted what was about to come.
Scotti decided to take the stage and turn the game around. He got the equaliser in the 77th minute with one of his classic moves: a one on one (which he one) against the defender and a strong shot under the crossbar.
There wasn’t even much time to celebrate and get the ball back to the halfway line before he scored again. Just one minute after levelling things, he fired home a loose ball from a corner that wasn’t cleared to make it 2-1.
Lecce pushed in the very last minutes but Mastrantonio above all marshalled the defensive department with a number of aerial duels won. In the end there was no more drama, and in the end it was Milan who took home the three points.
The result means that Milan Primavera have moved on to 36 points from 21 games, putting them above Juventus while waiting for Inter, Fiorentina, Sassuolo and Roma to play this round. They remain four points off top, with a game more played.
