Milan Futuro's journey in the Serie C Coppa Italia came to an end, with a 2-0 home defeat against Caldiero Terme in the quarter-finals. The Veneti scored twice in the first half and condemned the Rossoneri to elimination from a Cup that had seen the team's debut on 10 August with the 3-0 win over Lecco. The cold evening in Solbiate Arno (kick-off at 18:00 CET at the Chinetti) punished Bonera's team harshly as they were struck twice despite having commanded the game far and wide.
Even in the second half, despite the double disadvantage, the reaction was there and culminated in Longo's crossbar in the 54th minute, followed by a missed tap-in header by Fall from a few steps away. The Veneto formation then defended well and with order, leaving the ball for the Rossoneri and conceding relatively little. A beautiful chapter that had seen us reach the quarter-finals therefore came to an end: now maximum concentration on the league, with the next game on Sunday against Entella, which marks the beginning of the second half of the saeson and the last fixture in 2024.

MATCH REPORT It began slowly with few chances on either side, but the Rossoneri's play was fluid and effective in the offensive zone. On the first real shot on goal, however, Caldiero immediately secured the lead thanks to Scappini's right-footed shot, which went past Nava and under the crossbar. It was suddenly a mountain to climb for the boys, but they did not give up and reacted immediately. Chaka Traorè was key in our response, who in the minutes following the goal tried to send first Fall and then Longo on target, without success. Chaka tried again in the 28th minutes with a through ball for Bozzolan, who was anticipated by Giacomel. In the 38th minute, Caldiero doubled the scoreline with a shot from Zerbato that beat Nava.
The restart was all Rossoneri, and the most important chance came in the 54th minute: Longo's right-footed shot from the edge of the box hit the crossbar, the ball went up, and Fall beat all the defenders but didn't get his shot on target. Nava was then forced to make two fine interventions in the space of a few minutes, both on Scappini, who first hit a volley from short range and then tried to head it back, both times finding Lapo's hands. In the final minutes Milan Futuro pushed to find the goals, but Caldiero defended with order and conceded practically nothing more. It all ended 0-2.
