There have been some infamous ticket prices in the last few seasons, especially for the big games, and this was highlighted once again with the prices for the upcoming derby. Some seats have even increased by 79%.
AC Milan will be up against Inter on February 2nd and the tickets were released on general sale on Friday this week (January 17). As highlighted by many fans, the increase in ticket prices compared to the derby two years ago is significant.
As you can see in the image below, the price for Terzo Blu has gone from €59 to €104 (76% increase), while the price for Primo Arancio has gone from €139 to €249 (79% increase). The percentage varies from section to section, but all of the increases are significant.
Granted that inflation has forced the club to increase prices, the inflation rate is about 7-10% from 2022 to 2025. An increase of 79% thus cannot be attributed to inflation, simple as, and it can only be described as a money grab by the management.
It must be remembered that it will be more difficult for families and ‘true’ fans to watch the games every week due to these increased prices. It might not matter as much to tourists and fans from abroad, but those who have to pay every week – to watch a team struggle – are hurting.
