While Alvaro Morata is leaving Milan today for Galatasaray and Santiago Gimenez flies in, Francesco Camarda’s loan to Monza has been abandoned.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the decision to loan Camarda out to Monza has been scrapped following today’s 1-0 home defeat to Verona.

That result means it will take a miracle for them to avoid relegation at the end of this season, as they remain rock bottom with just 13 points from 23 Serie A rounds.

The original idea had been for Camarda to join Monza on an 18-month loan, potentially interrupted after six months if the club was relegated to Serie B.

However, with Morata moving to Galatasaray and flying out this afternoon for a medical, Sky Sport Italia report that Zlatan Ibrahimovic intervened to block the Camarda move.

The 16-year-old will instead remain at Milan and the Milan Futuro youth team, which plays its football in Serie C.

Meanwhile, Gimenez posted an image on his Instagram Stories showing the private jet that is taking him to Italian soil this evening.

He is expected to land at circa 17.00 GMT to complete the transfer from Feyenoord for €32m plus bonuses and a percentage of the sell-on fee.
