Mikey Moore return DELIGHTS Postecoglou after frustrating afternoon against Tamworth | OneFootball

Ange Postecoglou was delighted to see Mikey Moore back involved for Tottenham after they progressed in the FA Cup at the expense of non-league Tamworth.

Spurs needed extra time to defeat their part-time opponents and the final 3-0 scoreline flattered the Premier League side, after a tricky afternoon.

Moore was a rare bright spark for Spurs, playing 68 minutes on his first appearance since October and Postecoglou was very pleased with the 17-year-old’s contribution.

“Great to get him some game time,” Postecoglou spoke afterwards.

“I think he’s sort of itching to get back as well. He’s obviously missed a fair bit of football and he just adds another attacking threat to us.

“I’m sure after today he’ll feel a lot better. Like I said, I think he was a bit rusty at the start but he definitely grew into the game.

Tottenham scored three in extra time to progress and despite the poor performance, Postecoglou admitted frustrations can often get the better of you on days like this.

“Firstly, credit to Tamworth, I thought they gave a real good account of themselves,” he continued.

“We knew it would be a challenging afternoon for us. The surface made it really difficult for us to play in the way we wanted to.

“It’s easy to get frustrated on days like this but I thought the lads, for the most part, kept their heads really clear and calm and persisted and we eventually overpowered them.”
