Mikel Arteta says Eberechi Eze can create “magic moments” for Arsenal after completing his transfer.
Eze’s move from Arsenal’s London rivals Crystal Palace was officially announced on Saturday after a deal worth worth £60million upfront, plus £7.5m in add-ons was struck between the two clubs earlier in the week.
The 27-year-old was presented to supporters at the Emirates Stadium before kick-off against Leeds United.
Having not been signed in time to make his debut, Eze then took a seat in the stands and watched on as his new team-mates recorded a 5-0 win over the Premier League new-boys.
The England international could make his bow as early as next weekend when the Gunners face reigning champions Liverpool at Anfield.
Speaking about the deal and what Eze will bring to the squad, Arteta said: “I think he has the capacity to create these magic moments. He can do it from different positions, different situations.
“He's got that flair, he's got that charisma as well about him that is very contagious, and let's use it in the right way.
“He can play different positions, we know he can play as an attacking midfielder, right or left, he doesn't care. He plays shifted off the left as well. He's very comfortable there.
“We'll gather information again the moment he's on that pitch and starts to link and feel a connection with people. I'm sure we will find the right place for him.”

At one stage this week it appeared Eze was on his way to the other side of north London as Tottenham had been in talks with the attacking midfielder.
However, Arsenal hijacked the deal and Arteta has praised the speed of the club’s business.
He added: “One of the fastest transfers, I would say, and one of the most unexpected. But he showed an incredible determination. Starting from ownership, starting from Josh and then all the boards to recognise that we had to act.
“It was our choice, obviously, but it was a serious situation and that shows the level of determination and how much we want to take this club to a different level.
“So, delighted to have him. The talent is unquestionable, he's done it in this league. The personality, unbelievable. I've been very, very... not surprised, but I would say gladly witnessing everything that he's about and his family as well.
“So they have the right feelings for this club and you can tell that what happened to him on that pitch means the world to him.”
