Arsenal have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane this summer.

The Gunners are expected to pursue attacking reinforcements at the end of the season, with Raheem Sterling's Chelsea loan expiring and doubts over the futures of both Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli.

Athletic Club's Nico Williams is regularly named as a key target for Arsenal but SPORT BILD have now added Sane's name to the mix.

Sane, who played under Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta during his time as Manchester City's assistant, is in the final months of his contract with Bayern and, as it stands, will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season.

There have not yet been any concrete talks between Bayern and Sane over an extension. It is claimed the club would ideally like to keep him and Sane has expressed a desire to stay, but concerns over his reliability on the pitch have divided those making the decision.

Sane, 29, has not been a permanent starter under new manager Vincent Kompany, although he has still managed eight goals and four assists across all competitions.

His talents are appreciated by those in charge at Bayern but consistency has been a problem for Sane, who has never scored more than eight goals in a single Bundesliga season.

Bayern hope to sell at least one winger this summer but may be forced to accept Sane's departure if other options do not present themselves. Serge Gnabry is resisting attempts to be sold, while offers have not yet arrived for Saudi-linked Kingsley Coman.

Given Sane's contract expires this summer, Arsenal can make immediate contact over a free transfer and wrap up a deal before Bayern are given the chance to react.
