Antonio’s contract expired this summer and West Ham have been weighing up whether to offer him a new deal.

The 35-year-old is looking to get his career back up and running and breaking his leg in a car crash in December.

Antonio, who says he still has plenty to offer at the highest level, has played 323 games for West Ham and is their all-time Premier League top scorer with 68 goals.

But Potter has said Antonio is not in his plans next season after the Hammers completed the signing of Callum Wilson on a free transfer.

Asked Antonio would be part of his squad this season, Potter said simply: “No.”

Potter has also said Lucas Paqueta is committed to West Ham after he was cleared of spot-fixing charges.

Paqueta was this week cleared of getting booked deliberately to affect a betting market.

The Brazilian had been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City at the time the FA began its investigation.

"You never know for sure because anything can happen in the window with anybody," said Potter ahead of West Ham’s friendly against Bournemouth in America on Sunday.

“But the news is incredibly positive. If it had gone the other way, there would have been a whole other line of questions.

“Lucas is happy and committed. He is an important person in dressing room and at the club and we love him. We just want to help him enjoy his football.

“You can imagine on a personal level for him, having to fight those allegations was an incredible challenge for him. It has been a really tough period in his life and career.

“It is a credit to him and his family and everyone who has supported him that he has come through.”
