Among the head coaches currently out of a job, Massimiliano Allegri stands out as being one of the most decorated. Where could he end up?

Roma is looking for a new coach ahead of next season given that Claudio Ranieri – who has done an incredible job since returning earlier in the season – will not continue and should transition to a role within the management.

Roma vs. Milan for Allegri?

The Rome-based paper Il Messaggero (via MilanNews) writes that the name of Max Allegri has come back into fashion. He is once again on the list of the Giallorossi’s list of favourites together with Gian Piero Gasperini and Cesc Fabregas.

They add that Milan are also interested in the coach from Livorno, but they will certainly not participate in the next Champions League, while Roma are still fighting for fourth place. That could be a key factor.

In recent months, several names have been linked to Milan in addition to Allegri. Antonio Conte, Maurizio Sarri, Roberto De Zerbi, Vincenzo Italiano and Carlo Ancelotti are among those touted to take over from Sergio Conceicao.

Speaking of Conceiçao, the Portuguese has never hidden a certain annoyance at reading and hearing all these rumours – even branding them disrespectful – but he has continued to work. With the 3-4-3 he seems to have found a good formula, and the Coppa Italia could secure a Europa League spot.
