Real Madrid had to suffer to maintain their winning run in La Liga as Alaves came close to drawing the game in the final few minutes of their last league encounter. Ultimately, the Merengues were able to win this game, and added another three points to remain within a reasonable distance to Barcelona in the league table.

This match was different from the last few matches for Los Blancos. Rodrygo recently revealed that Ancelotti was angry with the team for not scoring in the first half, and in this game, Real Madrid were quick to make amends as Lucas Vazquez and Vinicius Junior combined to get the first goal of the game in the very first minute.

But, according to Mundo Deportivo, it was the second goal scored by Kylian Mbappe that has made a La Liga record for this season. The men in white completed 26 uninterrupted passes before the ball went into the Alaves goal, which is the longest sequence of a goal scored by any team in La Liga this season.

The finishing touch for this goal was applied by Mbappe, who received the last pass from Jude Bellingham. However, before them, whole of the Real Madrid team, with the exception of Thibaut Courtois, had received and passed the ball.

The sequence of the play started from the right side of the pitch, then moved to the left, and the ball got into the centre of the pitch before it was slotted home by the Frenchman.

This passage of play and the two other goals scored on the night go on to highlight the variety that Real Madrid have in their play.

The first goal was a quick attack by the Merengues as Vinicius found Vazquez in the box, and the Spaniard scored the goal. The second goal was characterised by patience and passing, while the third showed Rodrygo’s individual quality as he advanced with the ball and scored with thunderous shot.
