A convincing victory against Real Valladolid helps Real Madrid strengthen their lead at the top of the La Liga table.
A hattrick from Kylian Mbappe was the highlight, along with the defence keeping a cleansheet and the midfield performing to their caliber yet again.
Here is how the Real Madrid players fared against Real Valladolid.
Player ratings:
Thibaut Courtois: 7.0
Finally a cleansheet for the Belgium. Made two saves early in the first half and since then did not have to do much.
Raul Asencio: 7.0
Played as right back for the first time in his career. Made some attacking runs as well and held his ground defensively. 6/10 duels won, and 2 clearances.
Aurelien Tchouaméni: 7.5
Returned to defensive duties after playing in the midfield for a couple of games. Was not challenged much and did not even make any mistakes. 6 clearances, 2 tackles and 1 interception along with 7/11 duels won.
Antonio Rüdiger: 7.5
A brilliant outing for the German who was in good form against Valladolid. Made 5 clearances as well as 1 key pass and 3 long balls. Even took a shot from distance which was saved.
Fran García: 7.0
Another decent display from the Spaniard. Did not make as many overlapping runs as expected, putting in just 2 crosses, 2 tackles, and 1 interception on the night.
Dani Ceballos: 8.0
Outstanding performance yet again from this dynamic player. 117 touches, 98% accurate passes – along with 3 key passes. Surely in the conversation of the best midfielder in Europe this season.
Fede Valverde: 7.5
The Uruguayan returned to midfield and as most of the time, put in a complete display. Even played as right back towards the end of the game. Played a role in the opening goal of the night. A couple of clearances and a tackle and interception each.
Jude Bellingham: 9.0
If he cannot score, he will assist and put on one of the best displays. Combined well with Mbappe for the first goal and drew a penalty for the second. 3 key passes, 1 big chance created, 6/9 duels won and 89% accurate passes. A complete performance from the Englishman.
Brahim Díaz: 7.0
A rather quiet day for the Moroccan. Helped Asencio defensively and as a result made 2 tackles. 3/6 duels won and 2 key passes.
Kylian Mbappe: 10.0
Yet another perfect display from the French forward. Scored is first hat trick in a Real Madrid shirt and is now the second-highest goal scorer of La Liga with 15 goals. Since the Atheltic Bilbao loss, he has truly transformed with 12 goals and 2 assists in 12 matches after that. 24 G/A in 31 matches, when everyone thought it was his worst season, shows that Mbappe peaked at the right time.
Rodrygo: 7.5
Recorded an assist and put in yet another good shift on the left wing. 3 key passes but did not have a shot on target throughout the match.
Substitutes:
David Alaba: 6.0
Consecutive appearances off the bench as the Austrian tries to find his footing since returning from injury. Kept things simple in the 22-minute cameo and held his ground.
Luka Modric: 6.0
Missed an opportunity to score from an Arda Güler pass but, other than that, did well in the midfield and helped see the game through.
Arda Güler: 7.0
An eye pleasing 17-minute display from the Turk. Set up Modric but saw his shot go wide. 1 key pass and 12 touches.
Lorenzo Aguado: N/A
Came on in injury time and hence did not qualify for a rating.
Endrick: N/A
Just played a minute and does not warrant a rating.
